The heart of your skilled nursing facility

Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) are “at the heart of caring” in a skilled nursing facility. They help patients and residents with a variety of daily activities and the facility staff with various duties. At Golden Living, we want to thank all nursing assistants for their dedication during National Nursing Assistants’ Week, June 14-21.

At Golden Living, CNAs are a vital part of the services we offer across the country in our LivingCenters and through AseraCare, our home health and hospice company. They are such an important part of what we do that Golden Living has developed a specialized pre-certified nursing assistant program. Not many educational programs are open FREE to the community or require no previous work experience, but that’s what is unique about this program.

The CNAs that pursue and complete this program compassionately perform this special job at our Golden LivingCenters, AseraCare and other skilled nursing providers.

Golden Living established its CNA Training Centers in 1986 to address the shortage of qualified nursing assistants. Its purpose is to give students the tools they need to pass state licensure tests and deliver care with Golden Living’s high standards of quality, wherever they work.

Golden Living Training Centers* offer an eight-week program, which is longer than many other programs so instructors can individualize each student’s training. Students learn how to take care of multiple patients at one time and the importance of having a strong work ethic. CNA students are required to attend all 33 days of classes in order to graduate.

More than 75 percent of these graduates have become part of the Golden Living family. With hearts of gold, our trained CNAs care deeply about their role and quickly become an essential part of the residents’ extended family. Patients and residents come to rely on, sometimes entirely, on these CNAs for the care of their physical and emotional needs.

We again pay tribute to all of the nursing assistants who put so much person-centered care and commitment into their jobs. They are making a difference every day for so many people who need their dedicated service.

* Golden Living’s CNA Training Centers are located in: California - Fresno, Stockton, Shafter, and Bakersfield; Indiana - Indianapolis, Valparaiso, and Elkhart ; Louisville, KY; Smithville, MO; Rapid City, SD; Tupelo, MS and Birmingham, AL. Equal Opportunity Employer. Drug-Free Workplace.
